Vehicle Booking System (VBS) — Global Data Platform

Challenge

Mercedes needed a central analytics platform for its Vehicle Booking System (VBS) business, covering a very large and complex rental-car ecosystem across multiple markets in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The challenge was not only the volume of data, but also the diversity of users and use cases. Different stakeholders such as dealers, business owners, and various business partners needed access to reliable insights, each from their own business perspective. At the same time, the platform had to support a broad range of analytical needs across the entire vehicle rental business, including financial performance, administrative processes, vehicle movements, test drives, revenues, contract types, fleet usage, and operational activities. The source data coming from VBS was highly operational and not directly designed for analytical reporting, which made consolidation, standardization, and interpretation significantly more difficult.

Solution

We built a centralized analytics platform on Databricks that transformed raw VBS data into a structured, analytics-ready foundation. We integrated and standardized the data, created reusable data models, and enabled consistent reporting across markets and user groups.

Outcome

The project gave Mercedes a scalable global reporting platform for its rental-car business, improved transparency and KPI consistency, and enabled users in different regions to make better and faster business decisions based on a common data foundation.

TK Elevator

IoT Analytics & Unified Fleet Reporting — Global

Challenge

TK Elevator had millions of data points from connected elevators and escalators worldwide — but no structured way to turn that IoT data into concrete sales opportunities. Repair sales and modernisation leads were being missed because there was no analytical layer connecting equipment health, usage patterns and service needs to commercial actions.

Solution

Designed and implemented analytics models in Azure Databricks to identify repair upselling and modernisation lead generation opportunities from live IoT data — trips, alerts, errors and connectivity signals. Worked hands-on alongside TKE's IoT data expert and business leaders in daily/weekly on-site collaboration to co-create hypotheses, validate findings, and build end-to-end campaign execution — not just theoretical analysis. Unified Fleet Reporting (EOX, EA Sick Units, NxEMT). Developed global standard reports in Power BI with complex time-based DAX calculations and alert/error notebook pipelines.

Outcome

Delivered a working lead generation pipeline integrated into existing tools (Power BI, APIs, web applications) that produced measurable upselling potential — jointly running the first commercial campaigns with TKE leaders to confirm real business impact from IoT-driven insights.

NetzeBW

Data Strategy 2030 & ORCA Performance Reporting

Challenge

NetzeBW's finance division was driving a major digital transformation under their Data Strategy 2030 — with an ambitious goal to redesign core commercial processes and performance management. Their ORCA programme (Performance Reporting, Change & Automation) needed to replace fragmented reporting landscapes with a unified, data-driven performance steering system — connecting source systems, automating workflows, and delivering consistent KPIs across the organisation. The challenge required both deep technical expertise and strong business analysis capabilities simultaneously.

Solution

Delivered end-to-end implementation covering the full data stack — connecting source systems (BIANCA, MS Azure Data Lake) through Azure Databricks with PySpark, building ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory, and designing complex Power BI dashboards with advanced DAX models. Extended the solution beyond reporting by building full Power Platform automation — Power Automate workflows, Power Apps for operational processes, and Dataverse integration with SharePoint — creating a unified end-to-end platform combining data engineering and business process automation.

Outcome

Successfully established a scalable Azure Lakehouse architecture, integrated processes and unified reporting standards for NetzeBW's finance division — delivering the analytical foundation for their Data Strategy 2030 and enabling data-driven performance steering across commercial operations.

Data Integration Platform (DIP) — Azure

Data Integration

Challenge

SPIE needed to build a Data Integration Platform from scratch — a true greenfield project with no existing infrastructure, no legacy data models, and no predefined governance standards. Multiple business units had disparate data sources with no centralised storage, inconsistent data quality, and no unified analytical layer. The challenge was not just technical — it required defining the entire architecture, governance framework, security protocols and DevOps processes simultaneously, while aligning stakeholders across departments with conflicting requirements and expectations.

Solution

Designed and built a centralised Data Integration Platform on Azure Synapse Analytics — establishing the full data stack from the ground up. Developed customised ETL/ELT pipelines using Synapse Pipelines, PySpark and Delta Lake to ingest and unify data from multiple disparate sources. Implemented structured data zones (Raw / Technical / Functional / Use Case) with standardised data models, robust access controls and encryption. Set up CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes for automated deployment and monitoring. Delivered both technical and business-oriented reports in Power BI to serve diverse analytical needs across business units.

Outcome

Delivered a scalable, secure and production-ready Data Integration Platform — giving SPIE a solid foundation for centralised data management, self-service analytics and data-driven decision making across all business units. From zero infrastructure to a fully governed, multi-source integrated platform with professional DevOps maturity.
